Pavilion for an Architecture Festival in Valencia, Spain

The competition (3rd Prize) for a pavilion to host a week of events for an architecture festival called for the temporary occupation of an empty lot in the old quarters of Valencia. Upon studying the site, we learnt that the neighbors were campaigning to keep the property from being built and wanted to turn it permanently into a park. Our proposal consists of a light structure—a hacked greenhouse kit of parts—with a garden inside of it. After the festival activities are over, the greenhouse structure will be reused as a nursery for the Parks Department, while the garden will stay behind as an act of guerrilla urbanism to aid the neighbors in their campaign.
